PMSSS Scholarship Scheme 2024: The Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme is a financial opportunity offered by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). PMSSS 2023, also known as AICTE JK Scholarship 2024. All India Council for Technical Education under the rules of the Ministry of Human Resource Development provides PMSSS Scholarship to eligible & needy candidates.

PMSSS stands for Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme. This scholarship is for students from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh who are pursuing professional courses at AICTE-approved institutions across India. The PM Special Scholarship Scheme is provided by the Jammu & Kashmir Government to assist students of these regions to pursue undergraduate studies in colleges outside the Union Territories

PMSSS Scholarship Scheme 2024 Overview:

Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for the PMSSS, the students must comply with the eligibility criteria of PMSSS Scholarship Scheme 2024.

1. The students should be permanent residents of the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh 
2. Students who qualify for the national-level tests like NEET, JEE, CLAT, etc. are also eligible to apply 
3. The students must have passed class 12 from the J&K board or CBSE affiliated schools located in the Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh
4. The students must have passed 10+3 diploma from the Union Territories of J & K and Ladakh Polytechnic for admission in the 2nd year of registration. The counseling will be held subject to the vacancy in the previous academic year in the prescribed list of Institutions on the vacant seats of the Engineering category for batch 2020-21 
5. The reservation policy will be followed by UTs of the J&K and Ladakh regions
6. The family income of a student should not be more than Rs 8 lakh per year
7. Students must fulfill the minimum age limit and criteria as prescribed by the Institution/University

Ineligible Candidate

Candidates would be considered ineligible to apply for the PMSSS Scholarship Scheme 2024 when-

• Students who are enrolled in programs offered by Open Universities.
• Students benefiting from any other scholarship program provided by a Central/State/UT Government or any scholarship scheme administered by an autonomous organization associated with them.
• Applicants admitted through the ‘Management Quota’.
• Students pursuing Diploma courses.
• Students engaged in Post-Graduate level studies across all fields.
• Applicants with an annual family income exceeding Rs. 8.00 Lakh.
• Those who have not completed the online registration process on the AICTE Portal.
• Students enrolling in colleges that are not listed on the AICTE Portal as prescribed institutions.
• Candidates securing admission through intermediaries or non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

Scholarship Amount.

The Scholarship Amount of PMSSS JK Scholarship is mentioned in below points.

• General Degree (2,070 scholarships): Award up to ₹30,000 
• Professional/Engineering /Nursing/Pharmacy/Agri. HMCT Degree (2,830 scholarships): Award up to ₹1,25,000
• Medical Degree – MBBS/BDS/ BAMS/BHMS (5,000 scholarships): Award up to ₹3,00,000

• Class 12 marksheet
• Diploma certificate (for lateral entry students only)

Application Process

All the eligible candidates can apply for the Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme 2023 by filling out the PMSSS 2023 online registration form from the official website. Follow the simple steps mentioned below.

Click on the ‘PMSSS 2024 Registration’ tab

Click on the tab ‘12th Registration (2024)’

Fill in all the required details and click on Register

After registration, sign in by using email ID and password

Complete all the details, upload the required documents, and submit the form

Reservation Criteria

The reservation norms for the State of J&K in respect of SC, ST, and SEBC are followed for providing scholarship under the Scheme.  

ST (Scheduled Tribe) – 11% (for Gujjar & Backward, Leh District, Kargil District, Other ST category)

SC (Scheduled Caste) – 8%

SEBC (Socially and Economically Backward Classes) – 25% (Weak & underprivileged classes/social caste (OCS), Resident of the backward area (RBA), and Resident of adjoining actual line of control)
